What is an Electronic Shelf Label?
A low-power e-paper display installed on a retail shelf. It receives price, promotion and product information from a centralized management platform through store access-point infrastructure.
How does an ESL system work?
Product and pricing data flows from the retail platform through store access points to ESLs on the shelves. Updates are batched, transmitted over a 2.4 GHz wireless architecture and confirmed back to the platform.
Can ESLs connect to my POS or ERP?
Integration is available subject to API access, data structure and approved project scope. Integration is validated per project during the technical workshop.
How long do ESL batteries last?
Battery life is model- and condition-specific. Selected replaceable-battery models are described as supporting approximately 3 to 5 years at four updates per day. The 10.2-inch class is described as rechargeable. Universal battery claims are not made.
How much does an ESL system cost?
Pricing depends on label quantity, display sizes, access-point design, software, integration, mounting accessories, installation and support. Smart Citizens prepares a project-specific commercial proposal after reviewing the store and integration requirements.
