No. The Smart Citizens security stack — AI cameras, sensors, locks and intrusion alerts — works without a mandatory monthly fee. Optional cloud storage and monitoring add-ons are available.

What can AI cameras detect?

AI cameras can distinguish people, vehicles, packages, pets and known faces, filtering out gardeners, sunlight and animals to send only meaningful alerts to the Smart Citizens App.

Where is CCTV footage stored?

Footage can be stored locally on an NVR inside your home or in the secure Smart Citizens Cloud, or both. You keep full control of retention and access.

Is CCTV regulated in Dubai?

Yes. CCTV in Dubai is governed by SIRA for commercial premises and similar guidance for residential. Smart Citizens installs equipment and storage that aligns with UAE regulations.

Can I give a temporary code to a cleaner or guest?

Yes. The Smart Citizens App lets you issue time-limited PIN codes, fingerprint or app access for cleaners, guests and contractors, with a full audit log of who entered and when.
