    How it works

    1. Motor types

      Wired 24V DC or AC motors, or battery motors (Zigbee/Matter/Wi-Fi). Wired lasts longer, batteries retrofit easily.

    2. Rail and torque

      Long rails, heavy fabric and dual-track systems need higher-torque motors — get this wrong and the motor labours and fails.

    3. Blackout vs sheer

      Bedrooms need blackout; living rooms often want sheer for daylight without glare.

    4. Sun-tracking scenes

      West-facing windows close 60% at 15:00 in July; east-facing rooms wake at sunrise.

    5. Retrofit vs new build

      New build: run 24V wire behind the cornice. Retrofit: battery is honest, but plan charging access.
